What I desire to say to each new child who comes into our Home

Dear Child,

Oh little one, do you know how glad I am to meet you? You’ve been in my prayers and now I get to have you in my arms. Just being around you brings joy to my heart. I love you very much.

I don’t know what it was like for you before you came to my home. Who knows how many tears you cried, or how often your heart has been broken?

Every child deserves to know what it’s like to protected, valued, nurtured, cared for and loved. Perhaps those words seem foreign and strange to you, meant for someone other than yourself. Perhaps those words were something from a fairy tale so very different than the nightmare you were living in.

But, if there’s one thing I wish for you to know, dear little one, it’s this, you matter. You matter to me, you matter to all those who’ve been praying for you, and most of all you matter to God.

Time could never heal your wounds, but the love of God is able. You feel undeserving, yet God says you deserve. You feel unworthy, yet God calls you worthy. You feel like the lowliest, yet God says the kingdom of heaven belongs to you.

You will be protected, you will be valued, you will be nurtured and cared for, and you are very much loved.

I pray the Lord will begin to re-write your identity in Him. I pray you will come to know Him as your Father. Every day I will pray for you and I’m excited to watch you grow and strengthen spiritually, mentally, and physically.

I love you, and it’s an honor to have you in my home.

Love,

Mommy (The director of HoS)
